LAUN603, EXTENDED PRACTISE, STUDY TASK 1, 3D MODELLING VISUAL DIARY

3-D MODELLING VISUAL DIARY

Though this blog I will provide low quality render snapshots of my production of each character in progress, but I wont go into technical detail on this blog it is purely render tests and visual. I will provide a seperate blog that explains some of the shader and displacement techniques used and also the usage of xgen and dynamics for feathers and ncloth clothing techniques used, also some of my rigging techniques. Also finalised 3D character render sheets in all their glory.

The shaders, displacements, and lighting on these render tests are not final so please don't critique their quality as they are just quick snapshots to show progression of the builds

CHARACTERS

BAILEY -

JACK -

NORMAN -

ANNIE -

PUDDIN -

MAGDA -

SILAS -

SILAS MODEL HEAD AND SHADERS ARE ALL NEW BASED ON MY COP MESH I MADE THE MODEL MORE CARTOON LIKE AND PULLED BACK ON THE SHADER REALISM, BUT NOT TOO MUCH AS I WANTED TO KEEP THE STRONG SSS MEAT LAYERS TO CREATE A GOOD SAUSAGE LOOK BUT MORE IN KEEPING WITH THE REST OF THIS ANIMATION AND LESS REALISM THAN MY COP PRACTISE SHADERS. I FEEL THIS WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL AS I LOVE THE LOOK OF THIS MODEL I FEEL IT HAS A NICE BALANCE BETWEEN FUNNY CARTOON MODEL FULL OF CHARACTER AND SOME REALLY NICE SHADERS SHOWING THAT HE IS IN FACT MADE OF MEAT.
I AM PARTICULAR HAPPY WITH HIS CLOTHING AND SOME NEW WAYS I LEARNT OF  CREATING A LAYERED SHADER NODE THEN ATTACHING MULTIPLE SHADERS AND THEN MASKING ONE OF THEM WITH AN ALPHA MASK FOR FRAYED EDGES ETC.

OVERALL REFLECTIVE OVERVIEW ADJUSTMENTS

AFTER TAKING FEEDBACK FROM MY TUTOR AND FROM PEERS I WILL BE REDUCING BACK SOME OF THE REFRACTIVE QUALITIES OF SOME OF THE BEAK SHADERS, AND WILL BE REDUCING DOWN SOME OF HEIGHTS OF THE DISPLACEMENT MAPS, THIS WILL ALL BE DONE AS I WORK ON LIGHTING AND LAYOUT OF THEM IN SCENE AS IT IS JUST SLIGHT ADJUSTMENT OF NUMBERS OF THE SHADERS BEST DONE AS I AM DOING IN SCENE RENDER TESTS.
